Agent Bree Ogden of Red Sofa Literary to attend DFW Writers Conference, April 23-24 in Fort Worth

Literary agent Bree OgdenWe’re thrilled to announce that literary agent Bree Ogden will attend the DFW Writers Conference April 23-24, representing Red Sofa Literary!

Prior to jointing Red Sofa, Bree was an agent with D4EO Literary for more than three years and an associate literary agent at Martin Literary Management for nearly two years, representing a wide variety of literature from adult genres like horror, romance, and noir, to children’s, YA, and graphic/illustrated novels.

Bree graduated with a degree in philosophy from Southern Virginia University and went on to earn a master’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in editing and expository writing at Northeastern University.

In 2011, Bree co-founded and served as editorial director for the macabre children’s magazine Underneath the Juniper Tree, where she worked with such talented forces as Soju Shots (of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s HitRecord), Elizabeth Rose Stanton, Abigail Larson, Ken “Rabbleboy” Lamug, Rebekah Joy Plett (the latter three whom she snatched up as her clients) and others. In addition to agenting, Bree is the Assistant Class Director for LitReactor.com where she also teaches writing and industry classes.

At DFWCon, Bree is looking to hear pitches in these genres:

Bree is NOT interested in these genres:

•middle grade

•sick-lit (books about terminally ill people)

•academic nonfiction

•early readers

•chapter books (ages 6-8)

•fantasy

•science fiction

•paranormal/supernatural
